Last week we ran two Consumer AI events in SF as part of SF Tech Week by a16z.
➤ VIP Consumer AI breakfast. 50 VC partners and founders in the room got real about what consumer AI products are actually taking off. @mbaierlentz (@lightspeedvp), @rob_rav (@mavenvc), and @JoshConstine (@SignalFire) shared why virality almost always comes from founders early, what signals indicate a startup will scale (or fizzle), and why unnecessary tech reinvention is a trap.
➤ Consumer AI Vibe Scaling Night with 200+ founders, VCs, and operators attending. @KylanGibbs moderated @cgyulay (@speak), @groeneyy ( and @marvinvonhagen (@interaction). We talked about what makes AI feel human: natural pacing, memory across sessions, expressive voices, safe but unblocked creativity. Panelists shared wins on accent-robust speech recognition, latency improvements, memory features that actually drive retention, and lessons from features that flopped.
Huge thanks to our co-hosts at TRMNL4 and co-sponsors @GroqInc, @MistralAI, and @rhobusiness for fueling the rooms.
This is just the beginning. At Inworld, we’re doubling down on Consumer AI — the next generation of experiences is already being built.
We’ll soon launch a Consumer AI Accelerator for founders shaping what’s next — link to pre-register
