The UN, France, and Saudi Arabia are all in.
They've just unveiled the "New York Declaration," a new roadmap for a 2-state solution.
It's a bold move, complete with demands for Hamas to disarm and for Israel to stop its settlement activities.
The plan aims to unify the West Bank and Gaza under a reformed Palestinian Authority.
The problem? Neither side is buying it.
Israel’s government continues to reject a Palestinian state, while Hamas is unlikely to hand over its arsenal to the PA.
The UN calls this a "historic opportunity," but it's more like a diplomatic Hail Mary.
The current situation is a grim paradox: the very events that have made a 2-state solution seem more urgent have also made it feel more impossible than ever.
