The things that happened to me in the past month are truly terrifying upon reflection; they are experiences I've never encountered before in my life. It made me deeply realize the need to remind everyone to be cautious about conflicts with others during travel or daily life, and to always remember the principle of retreating for the sake of happiness. ❶ I asked the delivery guy to bring the package upstairs and was insulted. Because my studio was updating equipment, I bought a few Apple desktops from JD Express. The delivery guy called me, and I politely asked him to bring it upstairs after he finished with the other deliveries (JD Express offers door-to-door service). I sensed a change in his attitude on the phone, but I didn't think much of it since it wasn't the first time this happened. Then, I happened to take the elevator back to the studio and ran into this delivery guy. He didn't know I was the recipient, and after getting in, I didn't say anything. He was on the phone with someone else, continuously insulting me with harsh words, implying that I asked him to deliver the package upstairs just because I'm a girl. Although I felt angry, I didn't say anything. After exiting the elevator, I asked him if he was delivering xxx, and he said yes. I told him I would complain about him, and he, seeing I was a girl, didn't say much but rudely replied, "Go ahead and complain!" When he delivered the package to the studio door, I opened the door and told him to bring it inside. At first, he was reluctant to move it until he saw my studio colleagues coming out, then he finally brought it in. Honestly, I can't imagine what would have happened if I wasn't at the studio or if there were no one around. The outcome was that my complaint was successful; their manager personally apologized and fined him. The customer service also told me they reviewed all the recordings, and all the responsibility lay with the delivery guy. ❷ I was refused a ride by a taxi driver because the distance was short, and he drove off with my luggage. Last weekend, I had a last-minute meeting with a friend in a certain place and booked a hotel near the high-speed train station. I originally planned to check in, drop off my things, and then meet my friend at 8 PM. I arrived at 7 PM. So, I went to the train station to get a taxi. Since the hotel was quite close, I was mentally prepared that if the driver refused, I could add a few bucks to avoid being late. However, when it was my turn to get a taxi, an older driver with a regional accent was assigned to me. When I clearly stated my destination, he started speaking in a dialect I couldn't understand, and his attitude was obviously bad; he seemed to be cursing. He said, "Why would I take you for such a short distance?" and then got out to find staff. The staff indicated that he could issue a receipt, but he might not know how to use a smartphone. After waiting a few minutes back and forth, he returned, and the staff said it was all the same, randomly assigned, and that I was just unlucky. I started to feel anxious and said, "Driver, if you won't take me, I'll switch to another car." At that moment, the staff came over and said, "Let me get you another car," so I agreed to get out. I prepared to grab my luggage, and when the driver opened the door, the staff and I asked him to open the trunk. After calling out a few times, the driver just stepped on the gas and drove off with my things. I was so shocked that I was left dumbfounded; the staff also said they had never seen such a person in all their years... The result was that I was delayed for my meeting. After reviewing the surveillance, BJ, and transport management, nearly 20 minutes later, the driver returned (most likely out of fear) and forcefully explained that he hadn't heard... Then the vehicle was impounded, and a few days later, the company manager called to apologize and fired him... These are all personal experiences that happened to me, and every time I think about them, I feel a bit scared. What if that day the delivery guy had seen me living alone? What if the driver had not been at the high-speed train station with so many cameras? Or what if he had turned the gas pedal towards me? I don't want to make a big deal out of macro issues, but I still want to remind all of you, especially single girls! When traveling or in daily life, try to avoid too much contact with lower-level staff, and choose better platforms or dedicated cars for travel. Wishing everyone safety~
