Eu descobri que a gestão de pessoas na administração de um fundo é extremamente subestimada por GPs e alocadores. Criar um ambiente onde as pessoas possam ter sucesso, criar os incentivos certos e identificar/cultivar/contratar as habilidades certas é realmente difícil.

Some PMs are poor at hiring analysts and building a team. Sometimes it is adverse selection, but more often they prioritize the wrong attributes.
What is interesting is the overlap. The PMs who misjudge people internally are often the same ones who misjudge management teams externally. Assessing character, incentives, and judgment is a transferable skill or a transferable blind spot.
Basically "bad taste", the opposite of what Jim Simons put his success down to.
Existem um pequeno número de gestores únicos que são gênios loucos, que as pessoas odeiam trabalhar, mas que sempre apresentam resultados, mas não são assim tantos, na minha opinião. A maioria dos fundos de ouro tem bons gestores que construíram boas equipas. E alguns têm investidores medianos que apenas formaram uma ótima equipa.
